Description

Crocus Jeanne D'Arc is a stunning white crocus with larger blooms than other white varieties. These goblet-shaped flowers have slight purple veining on the outside of the petals and frilly yellow stamens in the centre of the bloom. Foliage is narrow green leaves with a silvery stripe. These blooms herald the beginning of spring and flower in February-March when planted in September-October. Crocuses respond to the stimulus of the sun and open in the morning and close their blooms at night or during a rainy day. Jeanne D'Arc is ideal to plant for colour at the front of mixed borders, in unusual containers in clumps or in rockeries. One of the hardiest crocuses this plant prefers full sun and a sheltered spot in well-drained soil. They prefer moisture while growing but are more drought-tolerant when dormant. Crocuses bloom earlier the following year when left in the ground. RHS award-winning bulb.
