Whatever the weather, your autumn garden will be hot, hot, hot with these fiery flowers. Dense clumps of lance shaped foliage are formed and create movement in the breeze while strong arching stems hold sprays of brightly coloured blooms high above. Just plant the corms on arrival and as if by magic they appear in the summer. Also known as Montbretia, the name Crocosmia comes from the Greek 'Krokos' meaning saffron and 'osme' meaning smell as when rubbed the leaves give a scent of saffron. Good as cut flowers in your home. Drought tolerant, perfect for borders and containers and rabbit resistant. Prefers well-drained soil in sun. Hardy tuberous perennial.

FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 C (5F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5C (23F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0C (32F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)
ST Sub Tropical are happy in temperatures between 10-15 C (50 59 F)
TR Tropical can withstand temperatures above 15 C (59 F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
