Description
Bursting with an electric energy, Cosmos Sulphureus Tango enthusiastically flowers its heart out throughout the summer and into early autumn, alongside an abundance of feathery, ferny foliage. As they emerge, the double blooms are a sumptuous, fiery red, but they soon turn to a bright, blinding orange, reminiscent of a cold glass of tango. It is no wonder that birds, bees and butterflies adore this award winning vision. The daisy-like blooms look great when cut for a kitchen display. Collect them in the morning, before the blooms open and they could last up to ten days in the vase. Incredibly, the more you deadhead the plant, the more the blooms magically appear. We absolutely love mass planting these half-hardy annuals for the fullest, most colour display possible. Cosmos grow successfully in most ordinary garden soil, just ensure the area is well-drained and in a sunny or partly shaded position.

How hardy are your plants?
All plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.
FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)
WT – Warm temperate – can withstand temperatures between 5-10 °C (41-50 °F)
ST – Sub Tropical – are happy in temperatures between 10-15 °C (50 – 59 °F)
TR – Tropical – can withstand temperatures above 15 °C (59 °F)
Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
