Description

Cornus canadensis grows wild in many places across Northern Asia and, although not native to the UK, it positively thrives in our UK climate. Predominantly grown in sunny or semi-shady areas. A ground covering wonder that produces bright green, deeply veined foliage from March to November each year, making it one of the best low-growing plants for areas which do not benefit from high levels of sunshine. In spring, Cornus canadensis produces clusters of small, 4-petalled simple blooms for low, floriferous interest. These flowers are then followed by bright red summer berries - which give the plant its other common name, Bunchberry. Later, in autumn, Cornus canadensis puts on a final show as the leaves shift to deep red and provide exceptional late season interest. Cornus canadensis is an herbaceous, fully hardy perennial which loses its leaves in winter and reinvigorates in spring each year. Prefers moist soil in full sun or partial shade. H: 15cm S: 1m.
