Description

If you love the scent of almond, the evergreen Clematis armandii Apple Blossom is an excellent choice. A large evergreen climber with leathery dark green foliage that is bronze-hued when young, she will easily climb to cover a wall, a shed or the side of your house. In early spring, a multitude of plump deep pink buds form, then open to display white flowers with a pink tinge, emitting clouds of a lovely sweet almond fragrance. Grow near a doorway or pathway so you can fully enjoy the scent in well-trodden areas. Clematis armandii Apple Blossom has been presented with the Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for outstanding performance in the garden. Clematis armandii Apple Blossom prefers to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in sun or part shade, with its roots in the shade. Reaching an approximate height of 5m, she is fully hardy requiring no winter protection.
