Chili peppers have more Vitamin C than any other fruit and this, combined with their use as a spice, has made chilli peppers the most widely grown food plant in the garden. This collection contains Hayloft's top three varieties for you to grow Pepper/Chilli De Cayenne - the most popular home-grown Chilli Pepper is the De Cayenne. The versatility of De Cayenne has made it fashionable. You can eat this pepper green, red, fresh, dried, and cooked. The taste is best described as 'hot and pungent'. Pepper/Chilli Hot Fajita - the compact Chilli Hot Fajita thrives in pots and containers. Producing a bumper crop of juicy chilli peppers which pack a real punch, with each chilli pepper hitting 70,000 Scoville Heat Units (the measure of how hot your chilli is). Pepper/ Chilli Pinokkio - Chilli Pepper Pinokkio is one of the top breeds of Chilli, producing an oblong and pointed pepper. This variety's popularity is based on the early ripening of the fruit; you will have a crop by July. At first, Pinokkio is a light-yellow colour, transforming into a gleaming orange red. If you eat one of the peppers fresh off the plant, you will discover Pinokkio has a fruity taste and is surprisingly sweet as sugar. A leading chilli for the UK garden because Pinokkio's other claim to fame is his resistance to cold weather.
