Description

Cerinthe major Purpurascens produces silver tinted, blue-green foliage and glorious, purple hanging bells that look as though they may begin to chime. The leaves first appear marbled with white but as they mature this fades. Their mystical energy brings joy to any garden, drawing in bees, butterflies and birds as if the wildlife hears its song while we unknowingly gaze its beauty. The common name Honeywort actually came about because bees go absolutely crazy for it. This is a fantastic choice for those wanting to fill any gaps in their ornamental borders, but that also want to plant some cutting flowers. The hanging bells look truly magical in a vase and when you cut these, they simply grow back, providing endless summer displays for your home. An amazing half-hardy annual, you can collect the seed year after year. For best results, we recommend planting Cerinthe major Purpurascens in full sun and well-drained soil.
