Produces consistently high yields of light blue berries ripening to be picked during August and September. Deliciously sweet and juicy these are a rewarding plant to grow for ultimate gardening satisfaction. Great for patio containers and in the border amongst flowers to encourage pollination for the best bumper crops. Ensure the soil is acidic and use ericaceous compost if necessary, for the best garden performance. Plant along with an early season cropper such as Earliblue or Bluecrop for guaranteed fruits all summer. Pretty white flowers are formed in clusters upon the upright shrub during late spring and early summer. Prune lightly in February and March removing any old stems to keep the fresh growth full of energy. Beautiful red orange foliage is produced in autumn for a fiery end to the season before the shrub goes into winter dormancy. Fruits are delicious eaten fresh or frozen to preserve, also great for making jams, smoothies, or desserts. Hardy perennial. Provide berries with protective netting from cheeky birds.
