Description

Aubergines are such an excellent source of fibre and nutrientsu2026and as we all know, no food tastes as good as the food you have grown yourself. Often called the 'Eggplant' ( because some varieties are white and oval; really, they are), their origins are Asian. A very easy plant to grow if you have a sunny sheltered spot. There are three varieties in this collection, which will provide an abundance of aubergines to use in the many recipes which feature an 'Eggplant'. Aubergine Angela - Most know the familiar purple tear-drop shape of an aubergine and Angela takes this look to a new level. She has white pinstripes running along the length of the aubergine. Quite fantastic and quite tasty. Aubergine Madonna - Aubergine Madonna is the most popular and well-known of the home grown 'Eggplants'. Madonna produces a uniform dark-violet fruit, and she is a vigorous grower Aubergine Moneymaker - Deep matt purple fruits are produced on this aubergine. Moneymaker is very well suited to the UK garden as it is bred to crop in cooler climates. What makes this aubergine attractive, popular, and widely grown is her reliability as a 'heavy cropping variety'. Find a sheltered spot in the garden which receives many hours of sunshine, add fertile soil and you will be enjoying a large crop of tasty, organic, antioxidant packed, delicious aubergines this summer.
