Tell Me More...
A charming trio of popular Astrantia featuring dusty pink Astrantia major ‘Florence’, soft white Astrantia major, and ruby red Astrantia ‘Claret’. Papery blooms resembling tiny pincushions, sparkle in dappled shade and are loved by bees and pollinators. Reliable, long flowering hardy perennials - Astrantia are a much-loved garden gem, often known as Masterwort or Hattie’s Pincushion. A great choice for cottage gardens and contemporary planting schemes. Resistant to slugs and snails. The flowers are excellent for cutting and bloom over a long period - from May to the end of September, sometimes longer. Plant bare roots in spring in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in part-sun, part-shade. H: 70-90cm S: 40-60cm Ideal for the middle or back of your border or a large container where this delightful set will add a sprinkling of colour and an airy look. Propagate by division in autumn. May self-sow in the garden. Prune spent flowers to avoid self-seeding.
