Description

Asparagus Guelph Equinox is a new asparagus to Europe. It caused a sensation at the International Asparagus Fair in Angers, France, at the back end of 2019. The judges at this event stated, 'Asparagus Guelph Equinox, takes the performance and yield of green asparagus to a new level'. This variety has the unusual ability, to produce uniformity in its spears. Not only this, but it is also an early cropping variety with a consistent high yield. 'Equinox' is the result of years of research at the university of Guelph in Ontario Canada. If you are looking for a green asparagus with impeccable credentials, then Asparagus Guelph Equinox is the one for you.

How hardy are your plants?

All plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 C (5F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5C (23F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0C (32F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5C (41F)
WT Warm temperate can withstand temperatures between 5-10 C (41-50 F)
ST Sub Tropical are happy in temperatures between 10-15 C (50 59 F)
TR Tropical can withstand temperatures above 15 C (59 F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
