Description
A new twist on a country garden staple, Antirrhinum Dazzling Lips produce an abundance of strong, stately stems that are full of elaborate, eye-catching blooms during spring and early summer. Flowering above the lush green foliage for several months, Dazzling Lips are perfect for adding a stunning splash of colour to your borders and containers. Excellent as cut flowers for your home too, and bees flock to the nectar-rich blooms all summer. Antirrhinum have been a firm garden favourite for generations, especially loved by children who take great delight in squeezing the sides of the blooms and watching the flower open like a dragon's mouth, hence the common name Snapdragon. The latin name antirrhinum means 'like a snout' and is believed to refer to the seedpod looking rather like a calf's snout. Incredibly easy to grow, preferring moist, well-drained soil in sun. Growing to a height of approximately 30cm and spread 20cm, Antirrhinum are half-hardy annuals, though seed can easily be collected and sown for new plants the following season.

How hardy are your plants?
All plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.
FH - Fully hardy - will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
H - Hardy - are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F).
HH - Half hardy - can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F).
T - Tender - may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)
WT – Warm temperate – can withstand temperatures between 5-10 °C (41-50 °F)
ST – Sub Tropical – are happy in temperatures between 10-15 °C (50 – 59 °F)
TR – Tropical – can withstand temperatures above 15 °C (59 °F)
Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
