Description
The name Agapanthus comes from the Greek words for flower and love, hence the other common name Flower of Love. Beautiful African Lilies with striking, large, round clusters of trumpet shaped flowers. Standing tall on strong, sturdy stems, Agapanthus make superb cut flower displays to enjoy in your home, lasting up to two weeks in a vase. This collection comprises; Poppin Purple - intensely dark purple blooms for a large, globe-like flowerhead to a height of around 60cm; Twister - a two-toned beauty with bicoloured blue and white blooms, H:40cm; and Black Magic - one of the darkest of the family, H:80cm. Eye-catching when planted in groups, particularly when grown in containers as a feature on your patio or balcony. The blooms sit upon vibrant, green, semi-evergreen strappy foliage all summer and are happy in coastal areas with salty sea breezes. Agapanthus prefer to be grown in well-drained soil and full sun for the best display. Hardy in most areas, some winter protection may be required in the very coldest and wettest of winters.
