Anaphalis triplinervis

Originating from the Himalayas, Anaphalis triplinervis is thought of as the original, and fully hardy, 'Pearly Everlasting'. The straw-like blooms are especially valuable for dried arrangements to extend floral decoration into the winter months. A florist's favourite, they have an incredible vase life when fresh. The delicate-looking, almost papery, button-like blooms appear in abundance in clusters from June to August. Almost covering the cushions of silvery, slightly downy foliage. Also known commonly as 'Triple-nerved pearly everlasting', relating to the heavily veined, grey-green almost hairy leaves which create a handsome backdrop and provide superb weed-suppressing groundcover. With a height of 50cm and spreading to 1m, the profusion of flowers is perfect for filling containers, adorning rockeries, and edging borders. Anaphalis triplinervis has been granted the prestigious Award of Garden Merit by the RHS for its outstanding performance in the garden. Thriving on any well-drained soil, in sun and partial shade.
