Alstroemeria Majestic Tiercé produces up to 100 large flowerheads in shades of peach and salmon pink, each petal flushed with yellow and streaked with markings that look like they could have been added with a paint brush. Flowering between June and November, your home and garden will be filled with blooms that last up to 14 days in a vase. Alstroemeria are so easy to look after and are bothered by very few pests. Just remember to pick or deadhead by pulling the flowers stems gently from the bottom of the plant, the resulting 'wound' then initiates new flowers. The more you pick, the more flowers grow. Originating from South Africa, Alstroemeria (or Peruvian Lilies) form fleshy tubers beneath the ground which increase each year to make an impressive clump of attractive foliage. The perfect base from which many stems rise producing buds that open to reveal stunning, blotched blooms that could have been painted by a brush. Alstroemeria represents friendship in the world of flowers. Each of the five petals a reminder of respect, commitment, humour, patience, understand and empathy. Alstroemeria Tiercé prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in a partly shaded sheltered site reaching an approximate height of 70-90cm and spreading to 45-60cm. Being an herbaceous perennial, these beauties will die back during winter, to re-emerge the following spring.
