Agastache Blackadder

The tall, bottlebrush-like blooms of Agastache foeniculum 'Black Adder' offer richly hued deep blue-black stems bearing small, lilac hued flowers from July through to October each year. Blooms are rich in nectar and will draw in bees, butterflies and other pollinators to feast. Simple, serrated, green foliage emits a delicious, spicy fragrance - particularly when agitated or brushed past. This makes plants perfect for planting near entrances, seating areas or pathways - where the scent can be utilised to full effect. A versatile and vibrant inclusion in pots, rockeries and herbaceous borders which offers excellent groundcover and makes a fabulous inclusion in a vase or floral bouquet. If that's not enough, seedheads also offer sustenance to birds and other wildlife if they remain on the plant during autumn and winter. Agastache foeniculum 'Black Adder' prefers moist, well-drained soil in full sun and is drought tolerant once established. As hardy, herbaceous which reaches a height of 75cm with a spread of 50cm and naturalises readily in the right conditions.
