Tell Me More...
A slightly shorter variety which is perfect for those of us with smaller spaces, balconies and patios. Sword-like leaves lend upward movement to the garden alongside striking lime, purple and black colouration which is impossible to miss. A new arrival for 2025, we are pretty sure that this won’t be around for long due to its captivating impact and versatility. Ideal for pots as well as weed-suppressing groundcover in drier borders, coastal garden or rockeries. Phormium ‘Licorice and Lime’ will mature to a height and spread of around 80cm over 2-3 years. Once established, this is an easy-going and resilient plant which requires little in the way of ongoing maintenance. Phormium ‘Licorice and Lime’ prefers to be planted in fertile, moist, well-drained soil of any kind except heavy clay. Position where plants will benefit from full sun or partial shade and any aspect other than north-facing. A hardy (H4), evergreen which is able to withstand temperatures as low as -10°C. Provide a deep, dry winter mulch for best results.
