I am a fully horticulturally trained individual, privileged enough to have worked for some world-acclaimed clients. I am an enthusiastic, spirited garden writer and self-confessed plant nut; aptly referred to as the Telegraph plant hunter where I feature every week. On a day to day basis, I can be found trawling through multiple plant lists from suppliers around the world looking for that next exciting plant to present to you all.
Lantana are probably my favourite plant, reminding me of holidays in warmer climates. Lots of different coloured, small blooms come together to form flower heads all summer long and into the autumn. They have a lovely scent too.
I love Tropical gardens with large, flamboyant plants in the brightest of colours. Unfortunately, they are difficult to grow in our British climate and it gets difficult to choose which containers to try and overwinter for the following year.
I love them all, and I love the fact that we have seasons, the colours in autumn, nature bursting forth in spring, the warmth of summer and the beauty of winter. I would hate to live anywhere where the weather was the same all year round. Though if pushed, my favourite is probably summer.
Stay fit and healthy no matter how little exercise I take and no matter how much rubbish I eat and drink. I don't know if it would be classed as a superpower, but the ability to make someone see someone else's point of view, not necessarily to change their mind but just to understand and listen.
I would love to have dinner with Richard III - to find out whether he was really the rogue that he is portrayed to be, or whether it was good old Shakespeare just sucking up to the Elizabethans. I would also love to know what really happened to the 'princes in the tower'.
It seems to be anything fattening!
There are so many films I like I don't think I could pick one. I love funny but clever films, with lots of twists in the story line that really make you think. Like 'Sliding Doors', a very clever idea. I also like the Shawshank Redemption.
Lack of respect for others opinions, and not saying thank you. Manners don't cost anything.
Probably something that would follow England rugby around the world. Maybe they could create a new job especially for me, may be 'rent a supporter' for the Rugby 7's.
Probably book a corporate suite at Twickenham and take all my family and friends to see an England match (those that wanted to come anyway).
I think India is currently at the top of my list, although I have always wanted to see the Aurora Borealis.
I have a pretty wide taste in music and my favourite song changes depending on what mood I am in, where I am or what I am up to at the time. Having recently visited an exhibition about Pink Floyd at the V&A I think they are currently my favourite band. My favourite song is probably 'Shine on your Crazy Diamond' as it has a very special meaning.
