Can be grown in a pot buried in the ground during the summer so it’s part of your border, then the pot can be lifted in autumn and kept undisturbed in a garage over winter.
Apply a mulch during winter for protection. Deadhead as required. May need staking to maintain a good upright habit in windy locations.
It is possible to propagate Watsonia by division or by seed sown in autumn.
