Roscoea are best planted in a well-drained soil of loam or clay within an acidic, neutral or alkaline PH balance. They are best positioned in an area of partial shade. They can cope with full sun if they are sheltered from midday heat and are watered thoroughly and consistently through summer. Roscoea are well suited to flower beds and borders or used as under planting within cottage and informal garden settings.

At the time of planting apply a layer of mulch to act as winter protection and water thoroughly and deeply.
Water your plants thoroughly on a regular basis. It may be beneficial to apply a layer of mulch so that the root system is kept cool, moisture is retained, and weeds are suppressed. Deadhead after the flowering period as this will encourage future growth and optimum health.
It is possible to propagate Roscoea by division in spring.
