Amend the soil with compost to improve the soils drainage as poorly drained soil will cause problems during the cold, winter months. Dig a hole that is twice the width as the root ball and a depth that is level with the native soil. Back fill and water thoroughly.
Rehmannia are low maintenance plants and are easy to care for once they are established. Deadhead plants to encourage further flowering. Apply a generous layer of mulch to the base of your plant to retain moisture levels and suppress weeds.
It is possible to propagate Rehmannia by seed in late winter, by softwood cuttings in spring or by root cuttings in autumn.
