Ranunculus are best planted in a light, well-drained soil of sand or loam within an acidic, alkaline or neutral PH balance. They are best positioned in an area that receives full sun. Ranunculus are well suited to flower beds, borders, pots and containers within cottage or informal garden styles. They are also suited to a cutting garden as they make excellent cut flowers.

Soak the bulbs for a few hours before planting to give your plants a kick-start. Amend the soil with compost and ensure good drainage. As a general rule, bulbs should be planted at a depth of around twice the height of the bulb. The ‘claws’ of the Ranunculus bulbs should be facing down when planting. Water well after planting.
