Omphalodes are best planted in a moist but well-drained soil of loam, chalk, sand or clay within an acidic, alkaline or neutral PH balance. They are best positioned in an area of part shade. Omphalodes are best used as groundcover plants beneath shrubs or in flower beds and borders within a cottage and informal garden.

Enrich the planting area with a generous amount of compost. Plant your Omphalodes as the same depth and width as the root ball and water thoroughly to settle the soil into place.

Apply a generous amount of mulch around the planting area to deter weeds and to keep the soil cool. Water your plants regularly especially during periods of drought. Cut back plants once they have finished flowering.
