Nicotiana are best planted in a moist but well-drained soil of loam, chalk or clay within an acidic, alkaline or neutral PH balance. They are best positioned in an area of full sun or part shade. Nicotiana are well suited to flower beds or borders within a cottage or informal garden and make great cut flowers.

Enrich the planting area with a generous amount of compost before planting. Plant your Nicotiana to the same depth and width as the root ball and water thoroughly to settle the soil into place.
Keep plants well-watered and fertilise on a monthly basis. Ensure you remove weeds from flower beds. Prune Nicotiana lightly once the flowers start to fade as this will retain a neat and tidy shape and will promote further flowering.
