Nectarines are best planted in a moist but well-drained soil or sand, loam, or chalk within an acidic, alkaline, or neutral pH balance. They are best planted in a sheltered position that receives full sun. Nectarines are well suited to wall-side borders. Dwarf varieties are also available that are suited to being planted in pots on a patio.

Amend the soil with well-rotted compost before planting. Dwarf varieties are perfect for planting in pots/containers.
Water regularly. When blossoms appear, apply a general fertiliser. Then, when fruits are appearing, apply a liquid fertiliser that is high in potash. Prune established fan-trained plants in spring and summer. If grown as a free-standing bush, established plants can be pruned in late summer.
It is possible to propagate Nectarines by seed or by grafting.
