Nasturtium are best planted in a moist but well-drained soil of loam, clay or sand within an acidic, alkaline or neutral PH balance. They also make fantastic container plants.

Avoid planting in areas that have been heavily amended with organic matter as this will affect the flowering quality. Dig a hole big enough to accommodate the size of the root ball. Place the plant in the hole so that the crown is at soil level and water in well.
Water regularly throughout active growth, taking care not to overwater as this will cause the roots to rot. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage a further profusion of flowering.
It is possible to propagate Nasturtium by seed which can be collected towards the end of the growing season.
