About Koeleria

Koeleria are annual or perennial grasses that form compact clusters on slender leaves and gorgeous flowering panicles in frosty shades of silver throughout summer. Koeleria are best suited to flower beds or borders within a city, courtyard or informal garden. You can expect to see Koeleria grow to an approximate height and spread of 10-50cm (5-8’).

How to plant Koeleria

Koeleria are best planted in moist, well-drained soil of chalk, loam or sand within an alkaline or neutral PH balance, thriving in a position of full sun or part shade. Hoheria prefer slightly damp soil so coastal regions are ideal for this plant. However, they will need to be sited in a location with protection from adverse conditions to protect their foliage from wind damage. At the time of planting provide a generous layer of mulch to the base of your plant. After planting water thoroughly to settle into place.

How to care for Koeleria

Koeleria require a regular watering schedule, especially during periods of drought. Prune back during the spring if necessary and remove all flower spikes during late summer.

How to propagate Koeleria

It is possible to propagate Koeleria by seed sown during spring or autumn. Alternatively, you can propagate by division during mid-spring.
