Digiplexis are perennial plants that are a cross between a ‘Digitalis’ and an ‘Isoplexis’. This exquisite hybrid produces basal branched and vigorous growing foliage and divine trumpet-shaped blooms throughout summer. They are best suited to flower beds and borders within a cottage or informal garden setting. You should expect to see Digiplexis grow to an approximate height of 60-75cm (24-30”) and a spread of 45cm (18”).
Digiplexis are best planted in well-drained soil of loam, clay, sand and chalk within a neutral, acidic or alkaline PH balance. Digiplexis are best positioned in a sheltered area of full sunlight or in part shade. Amend the planting area with a generous amount of organic matter to improve overall drainage. Dig a hole that is as deep and twice as wide as the root ball, spreading the roots before being placed into the ground. Water thoroughly and deeply after planting.
Digiplexis require regular watering during active growth, especially whilst they are young as this will promote the development of a healthy root system. Deadhead spent flowers as this will promote better and more compact growth when the second flush of flowers emerge. Fertilise regularly during the season to encourage a profuse number of blooms.
