Where to plant Colutea

 

Colutea are best planted in a well-drained soil of chalk, clay, sand or loam within an acidic, alkaline or neutral PH balance. Plant in a slightly sheltered spot. They are best positioned in an area of full sun.

Colutea like the soil to be well-drained, so the soil may need to be amended with grit or sand to improve drainage.




 


 

How to care for Colutea

 

RHS pruning group 1- prune lightly in late winter or early spring by removing diseased, congested or crossing shoots. Shoots that are growing in directions that are not wanted can also be pruned out. After pruning, give a mulch and a feed. Once established, Colutea are fairly drought tolerant..
