Grow Campsis against a sunny, warm wall that is at least 4m (13ft) high. Extra grit can be added to the compost to improve the drainage. Shelter from cold winds.
RHS pruning group 12- may need regular pruning to keep in check. Deadhead flowers immediately, so the plant puts its efforts into re-flowering rather than increasing foliage. This will keep the plant under control. Campsis will require very little water once established.
It is possible to propagate Campsis by seed, layering, hardwood cuttings or root cuttings.
