Amend the soil with grit, sand, or compost to improve the soils drainage. Space companion plants at least 30cm (12in) apart from one another. If growing in a container, the pot should be at least 30cm (12in) wide and the same depth. Borage dislikes being transplanted so be sure to choose a suitable site for them to be planted in.
Leave Borage to self-seed after flowering. Harvest flowers and leaves as and when you wish to use them. They have a mild cucumber taste to them.
It is possible to propagate Borage by seed.
