Remove any weeds or debris from the planting area. Dig a hole 2-3 inches wider and just as deep as the root ball. Amend the soil with compost to improve drainage. Place your Aubrieta into position and gently backfill. Water deeply and thoroughly to settle the soil into place.
Cut back hard once the flowering period is over as this will encourage a new bought of foliage. Provide plenty of water when Aubrieta are in full bloom, reducing the schedule significantly throughout the rest of the year.
It is possible to propagate Aubrieta by seed, softwood cuttings or semi-hardwood cuttings.
