Flowering Period – Spring

Hardiness –  Fully hardy

Where to plant Arum

Arum are best planted in a moist but well-drained soil of loam, chalk or sand within an acidic, alkaline or neutral PH balance. They are best positioned in a sheltered area that receives full sun or partial shade. Arum flower better in the sun and their leaves are larger in the shade.

How to plant Arum

Amend the soil with compost before planting, as Arum like their soil to be humus-rich. Water thoroughly after planting.

How to care for Arum

Divide clumps every 3 years when the plant is dormant in late summer. Apply a mulch in the autumn which will help retain moisture and provide the plants with nutrients.

How to propagate Arum

It is possible to propagate Arum by division of clumps of tubers after flowering or by seed sown in autumn, having removed the fleshy pulp.
