About Argyranthemum

Argyranthemum are tender evergreen perennials or sub-shrubs with modest strap-shaped leaves and intriguing daisy-like flower heads from late spring through to autumn. They look magnificent when planted in flower beds and borders within courtyard and city gardens or within pots and containers on patio or decking. You should expect to see Argyranthemum grow to an approximate height of 80cm (32”) and spread of 60cm (24”).

How to plant Argyranthemum

Argyranthemum are best planted in well-drained soil within sand, clay and loam within an acidic, alkaline or neutral PH balance. Argyranthemum should be planted approximately 30cm (12”) apart for them to spread to optimum effect and watered thoroughly and deeply to set plants into place. They are best positioned in an area of full sun, where there is shelter from intense midday heat to prevent scorching.

How to care for Argyranthemum

Argyranthemum require a monthly feed with a balanced all-purpose liquid fertiliser for your plants to develop and flourish. Pinch the tips on a regular basis until any flower buds appear during the late spring and cut back to promote new growth and fresh blooms – this can be undertaken at any time during the growing season.

How to propagate Argyranthemum

It is possible to propagate ;Argyranthemum by root softwood cuttings during spring and hardwood cuttings of non-flowering shoots at any other point in the year.
