Argemone are best planted in a well-drained soil and positioned in an area that receives full sun. Argemone are well suited to a cottage garden and make a nice addition to a wildlife garden as the blooms are attractive to pollinators.

Soil may need to be amended with grit or compost to ensure good drainage.
Argemone resents being disturbed once established. Remove deadheads to prolong flowering and to prevent excessive self-seeding.
It is possible to propagate Argemone by seed sown in the spring.
