Where to plant Anthemis

Anthemis are best planted in a well-drained soil of loam, chalk or sand within an acidic, alkaline or neutral PH balance. They are best positioned in an area that receives full sun. Anthemis are well suited to being planted in banks and slopes or used in beds and borders within a cottage or informal garden setting.

How to plant Anthemis

Dig a hole that’s the same depth and width as the root ball. Space companion plants 40cm (16in) apart and mix a generous amount of peat moss into the planting area, mixing thoroughly to keep the ground moist. Water thoroughly and deeply to settle the soil into place.

How to care for Anthemis

Deadhead flowers regularly to encourage more flowering. Prune lightly in spring to maintain a neat and tidy shape. During winter, Anthemis will require additional protection to apply a generous layer of much. Alternatively, provide fleecing if they are planted in a particularly cold or exposed area.

It is possible to propagate Anthemis by seed, division or basal cuttings.
