About Anisodontea

Anisodontea are evergreen perennials and shrubs with small, simplistic leaves, tall slender stems and saucer-shaped flowers between summer and autumn. They are best suited as patio and container plants. You should expect to see Anisodontea grow to an approximate height and spread of 1m (3).

How to plant Anisodontea

Anisodontea are best planted in well-drained soil of loam or sand within an acidic, alkaline or neutral PH balance. It is best to plant them in the spring, once the risk of frost has passed, ensuring the soil is kept well-watered during immaturity. This plant is well adapted to growing in pots. Ensure it is kept in a position that is well lit and welcomes full sunlight.

How to care for Anisodontea

The ideal pruning window for Anisodontea is from the end of winter to the very beginning of spring. Cut back hard ensuring there is some foliage left at the base of the stem, removing any dead or damaged wood. Once mature, water Anisodontea during periods of prolonged dry weather during the evenings when the temperatures are cooler.

How to propagate Anisodontea

It is possible to propagate Anisodontea by seed during spring or by semi-ripe cuttings during the summer.
