About Anemonella

Anemonella are tuberous perennials that are both compact and clump forming. They display a delicate abundance of flowers that can be enjoyed during spring and summer set upon subtle fern-like foliage. They are great for under planting alongside brightening dull areas and making a fantastic addition to a rock pool or pond. Anemonella typically grow to an optimum height and spread of between 0.1-0.15 metres (4 -6”).

How to plant Anemonella

Anemonella are best planted in a partly shaded area, at a depth of 3cm (1”) with companion plants spaced between 12-18cm (5”) apart. It is preferable that Anemonella are planted in moist, well-drained, loam based soil of an acidic or neutral PH level.

How to care for Anemonella

Anemonella require regular watering when in bloom and will need extra care and attention during periods of drought. Apply a layer of organic leafy mulch to retain moisture levels whilst suppressing weeds and supplementing the soil with additional nutrients.

How to propagate Anemonella

Anemonella should be propagated by ripe seed sown in containers within a cold frame or by division during the early spring.
