Where to plant Anphalis


Anaphalis are best planted in a moist but well-drained soil of loam, chalk or sand within an acidic, alkaline or neutral PH balance. They are best positioned in an area of full sun but will tolerate partial shade. They are best suited to flower borders and beds, in a cutting garden or in a cottage or informal garden style.

Dislikes winter wet so ensure that the soil is well-draining. Water thoroughly after planting. Protect your plants from winter wet by applying a generous layer of mulch around the base..

Cut back in the autumn. To prevent self-seeding, gather the heads or shear back your plants before the seeds ripen.


How to propagate Anaphalis


It is possible to propagate Anaphalis by seed sown in spring (in pots in a cold frame), by division in early spring or by root softwood cuttings in spring or early summer.
