Ammi are best planted in a moist but well-drained soil of loam, sand or chalk within a neutral, acidic or alkaline PH balance. They are best positioned in a sheltered area that receives full sun. Ammi are well suited to flower beds and borders within a cottage or wildflower garden. They also make a fine addition to a bouquet or cut flower arrangement.

Heavy soils can be amended with organic matter to improve drainage. Dig a hole that is the same depth and twice the width of your plants, spreading the roots out before setting into place. Space companion plants 30cm (12in) apart to allow room for plants to spread as they mature. After panting, water thoroughly and deeply.
Water regularly as they mature and during periods of drought. Keep the soil consistently moist during active growth. Staking is required as Ammi continue to grow, especially in areas that are exposed to adverse weather conditions.
It is possible to propagate Ammi by seed in spring.
