Amarine are best planted in a well-drained soil of sand, chalk or loam within an acidic, alkaline or neutral PH balance. They are best positioned in an area that receives full sun. Amarine are well suited to flower beds and borders within a cottage, courtyard or informal garden style.

Dig a shallow hole with the pointed end of the bulbs showing just above the soil surface. After planting, water well to settle the soil into place.

Protect your bulbs from harsh winter conditions, applying a deep dry mulch over the colder months. Provide a generous amount of water during prolonged periods of drought, taking care not to overwater which will cause the bulbs and roots to rot.
