Plant to a depth of 10-15cm (4-6in), spacing companion bulbs around 10-15cm (4-6in) apart. If you have a heavy soil, you may wish to amend the soil with frit or organic matter to improve drainage.

Once the flowers have gone over, leave the seedheads for additional interest throughout the rest of the year. Leave foliage in-tact as this will provide your bulb with enough energy for the following season. Allium bulbs do not need to be lifted during winter as they are fully hardy. Instead, mulch the base of your plant well with mushroom compost.
