Watsonia is a genus of plants from the Iris family, in the subfamily Crocoideae, which are native to southern Africa. Watsonia is named after the 18th century English botanist William Watson and is more commonly known at the Bugle Lily, due to it's trumpet shaped flowers.
Watsonia are tender to semi-hardy perennial herbs that grow from corms and produce spikes of trumpet (or bugle) shaped flowers and sword-shaped foliage. They are perectly suited to a tropical style garden.
