Veronica is a genus of flowering plants within the Plantaginaceae, native to temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. They are commonly known as ‘speedwell or gypsyweed’. The genus name was given by botanist Carl Linnaeus based on existing usage of the name within many countries in Europe. A stylized veronica is on the badge of a squadron within the British Royal Air Force.
Veronica are annuals, perennials or sub-shrubs with stunning upright spears of small, fluffy flowers that appear during summer over compact mounds of mildew resistant and lush green foliage.
