History and Origin:

Tetrapanax are a genus of plants within the Araliaceae family, native to Taiwan and eastern Asia. They are commonly known as the rice-paper plants.

Tetrapanax are evergreen shrubs or small growing trees with beautiful palmate foliage and modest clusters of flowers that flourish throughout autumn. Flowers are often followed by black fruits in the winter. Tetrapanax are best suited to flower beds and borders within a city, courtyard or architectural garden. You can expect to see Tetrapanax grow to an approximate height of 2.5-4m (8-13) and a spread of 1.5-2.5m (5-13).
