History and Origin:

Spiraea are a genus of shrubs within the Rosaceae family, native to temperate regions of Asia. It was first cultivated in 1870 and was presented as an ornamental landscape plant where is eventually spread and naturalised within western countries.


Spiraea are deciduous shrubs with simplistic leaves and bushy panicles of showy, flat topped blooms that are held in neat and compact clusters above mounds of rich green foliage during spring and summer.
