Sollya, also known as Billardiera, is a genus of small vines and shrubs within the family Pittosporaceae which is native and unique to Australia. The name Billardiera comes from the botanist James Edward Smith who first described the genus in 1793 who named it after Jacques Labillardiere, a French botanist. They are more commonly known as Bluebell Creepers.
Sollya are twining perennial climbers with evergreen simple leaves and bell-shaped flowers that bloom in summer and autumn which are then followed by purple or blue berries in the autumn. They are well-suited to planting in wall-side borders, in containers and is perfect for training over an arch or pergola.
