Pieris

History and Origin:

Pieris is a genus of flowering plants within the Ericaceae family, native to Asia. They can be referred to as ‘andromeda’s or fetterbushes’. The genus name derives from the Ancient Greek city of Pieria, the home of Muses, the Greek goddess of literature, art and science Muses.

About:

Pieris are compact evergreen shrubs with small leathery dark green foliage and bead like chains of cream coloured bell-shaped flowers during the spring season.
