Perovskia

History and Origin:

Perovskia is a genus within the Lamiaceae (mint) family, native to central and southwestern Asia. The genus name was given in honour of V A Perovski, a Russian general in 1794-1857.

About:

Perovskia are deciduous sub-shrubs with highly fragrant and attractive variable leaves that hold large spires of compact flowers from late summer. These shrubs have woody stems and are both drought-tolerant and easy to maintain. They look their best in flower beds and borders within informal, cottage and courtyard gardens.
