Menyanthes

History and Origin:

Menyanthes is a genus of flowering plants within the Menyanthaceae family. They are commonly known as bog bean, buckbean or marsh trefoil, native to North America.

About:

Menyanthes are aquatic, rhizomatous perennial plants that love to grow in shallow water. Dark, long slender stems are embellished with elliptical foliage and gorgeous clusters of star-shaped blooms, each with attractive fringed petals. Menyanthes flourish during the summer, perfect when planted in a low maintenance or wildlife garden. You should expect to see Menyanthes grow to an approximate height of 10-50cm (4-20) and a spread of 1m-1.5m (40-60).
